Born in 2000, the Lethargy family is comprised of childhood friends who formed the band through a love of music while still at school. Various home recordings eventually matured into a first self funded and self released album titled “Road Out of Nowhere,” which received positive reviews in the national music press including From Neath, South Wales comes one of the discoveries of the year. Lethargy mix grunge dynamics with Manics-style angst, and the results are awe-inspiring. Swirling guitar soundscapes give way to heavy grooves, rounded off with intense political and philosophical lyrics that actually have something to say. Grandiose in every sense of the word. This lot are one of the most exciting and inventive rock bands that have passed through this page, and boy, have we had a lot of those. Well done. Rating 4/5 This led to the band being signed by A&R legends, Derek Oliver and Dante Bonutto, to their label, Grind That Axe. On 14th October 2006, Lethargy ventured to Mwnci Studios in the forests of west Wales for three weeks to record their new album. At the production helm was legendary producer David Prater (praterproductions.com) whose resume includes such artists as Dream Theater and Firehouse. Prater then went onto mix the album with the assistance of Javier Bassino in Santiago, Chile, South America. The product of this recording session, “Purification” is the bands first official general release which hits the shops in the summer of 2008 and is to be followed by a tour. P.S. Pisałeś mi Edżu, że Ci podchodzi ten band... Swansong ,Carcassa jest w podobnym nieco stylu (jeśli wokal Ci psuje sprawę na Swansong, to sięgnij po Blackstar - te same emocje, co tu, przy Lethargy !. edgeofthorns - 2009-04-15, 21:02 Wygląda na to, że sobie nie wyrobie ulubionych. Nie ma. na każdy kawałek nie mal reaguje tak samo. Czyli w sumie... nijak. Nie jest to jakas muzyka, która mnie 'porwie'. Zła nie jest, ciekawa - owszem, ale nie na tyle, żebym się tym zachwycał. Czasem drażni mnie wokal. Nie wiem, co w nim widzę nieodpowiedniego... Dziwne, bo na jednej płycie ze 3 różne style można wyłapać
A ten Lost Adoration - moim zdaniem jest czaderski... refren tylko trochę psuję...
Plusem jest również to ,ze wokalista wygląda jak swojego czasu Jeff Walker, co mi sie kojarzy z Carcassem i mają plusa na wyjściu
P.S. Grandżowcy ! - rzucić okiem na ten band, bo myślę, że dałoby się coś dla siebie odgryźć. |
